President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his condolences to the President of Nigeria Muhamadu Buhari and all Nigerians over the tragic death of their Army Chief Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and other military officers.
They were killed when their plane crashed in the country’s north, according to reports.
The incident on Friday occurred “due to inclement weather” as the plane was landing at the Kaduna International Airport, the armed forces said in a statement, adding that the crash “claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew,” officials said.
In a tweet, President Akufo-Addo said “
I express the deep condolences of the Gov’t and people of Ghana, and of myself personally, to President Buhari and the Gov’t and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the shocking, tragic deaths of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.”
